RAM on the Gawler Line
A recent break down of a client’s own machine, saw RAM Equipment help and step in with the Hitachi ZX170W-3 Hi-Rail Excavator.
This machine, currently onsite on the Gawler line will be involved in the Gawler Rail Electrification Project. This $615m project will deliver a faster, cleaner and more reliable service. delivering an electrified network through Adelaide from Gawler to Seaford.
Once complete, the electrified line will support increased capacity and future growth for development along the rail corridor and in northern Adelaide.
Works include:
- Electrification of the Gawler rail line and Dry Creek Railcar Depot
- Replacement of the signalling system – including Automatic Track Protection provision
- Construction of an electricity feeder station at Kilburn
- Pedestrian level crossing enhancements and fencing of the rail corridor for improved safety
The project completion is expected in 2021.
